GEORGE, Sara J. Cox - Putnam

Sara J. Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M.D. Cox of Putnam County was born in KY Feb 22, 1834. She departed this life at her home in Pittsobro Saturday evening May 29, 1920 age 36 (86) years 6 months 7 days. She came to Indaina with her parents in 1835 and located on a farm near Greencastle, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to JH George Sept 12, 1852. She became the mother of 9 children, all of whom have lived to be the heads of families except one son who is single and lives at home. She joined the Missionary Baptist Church at New Maysville in 1845 having been a member of the church 55 years. She has lived to adorn the profession she made. Funeral services in charge of Rev. Hayworth was conducted at the Christian Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Her remains were laid to rest in the Pythian Cemetery at Lizton.
